OMAE 2007 is organizing a
specialty Forum entitled “Deepwater
Riser Technology”. This series of sessions will be the first of its
kind in
the OMAE history. The current need for such a forum is demonstrated by
the boom
in the deepwater riser technology development worldwide from
universities,
research institutes, third parties, and offshore industries.
In general this forum will
cover all deepwater riser related issues. These issues will be of
interest to
many segments of the offshore industry. Typical topics will include:
- Deepwater
riser physics and dynamics;
- Riser
analysis technique and methodology;
- Riser
system and component design;
- Riser
fatigue issues;
- Deepwater
riser vortex induced vibration (VIV);
- Floater
vortex induced motion (VIM) induced riser fatigue;
- Riser
design code and standards;
- Riser
field experiments;
- Deepwater
riser novel concept development;
- Riser
analytical tools;
- Deepwater
riser projects;
- Riser
experience and lessons learned;
- Deepwater
riser materials;
- Deepwater
riser reassessment and verification;
- Deepwater
riser fabrication;
- Deepwater
riser construction and offshore installation;
- Riser
qualification and testing;
We are seeking a broad
cross section of papers from universities, research organizations,
regulatory
bodies; operators, service companies, and consultants which highlight
the
latest technologies. High quality abstracts that demonstrate to the
reader that
your paper and presentation will be interesting, informative and
topical are
needed to make this program.
Submit your abstracts
to this
specialty Forum under Symposium 1 in the Conference
web site.
